VETERANS DAY MAUI 2013 So many ways to pay tribute to our former soldiers on Veterans Day on Maui. Most of the events are generally at the Queen Kaahumanu Center the Sunday before Veterans Day. Organized by The Maui Sons and Daughters of Nisei Veterans there will be live entertainment and displays, also arts and craft fairs to support the same group.
On the Island there are several veterans associations. Veteran Cemetery's on Maui include Makawao, Haiku , and a veteran’s memorial center overlooking the harbor. Events for Veterans Day, though specifics will vary from year to year.
The Maui Ocean Center ~ has come up with an unusual military connection to commemorate the day, by organizing tours focused on sea life that uses camouflage, giving you a chance to do something different this Veterans Day.

The National Park Service has strong roots in the military, the first park rangers were soldiers. The uniform, especially the “ranger hat,” still reflect the Cavalry units that protected national parks until the creation of the National Park Service in 1916. Today, more than 17 percent of National Park Service employees, nationwide, are veterans. If your on Maui On Veterans Day,honor those that have served and sacrificed for our country with a visit to our Haleakala National Park.
